I founded Inventory Detective in 2017, an Amazon reimbursement service built on one premise: sellers were leaving money on the table because they didn’t understand Amazon’s policies well enough to know what they were owed. Getida acquired the company in 2019, and I spent the next six years there as a product manager.
My job was to know Amazon’s reimbursement policies and Terms of Service well enough to build claim types, understanding not just what the policy said, but what data Amazon would accept, how their systems processed it, and how to respond when their answer wasn’t right. I also ran onboarding and sales enablement, which meant translating policy complexity into plain language for people who needed to understand it fast.
I started Decoding Amazon because that translation work is what sellers actually need, and almost nobody is doing it from primary sources.
